The Smile Train

The Smile Train is our featured charity for May. The Smile Train works to improve the lives of children born with cleft lip and palate by training local doctors to perform surgery to correct the problem. Operations take as little as 45minutes, but change children’s lives beyond measure.
In many countries, children are born into poverty. Parents are unable to pay for the life changing surgery required. In Uganda these children are given the name ‘Ajok’ which means ‘cursed by God’. Children may be abandoned by their parents and banned from attending school. The smile train has performed over 300,000 operations in 75 different countries over the last eight years, allowing these children to have a second chance in life.
It costs just £150 per operation. Why not consider supporting the work of Smile Train with a donation or a legacy?
